After the windstorm, we decide to delay driving the RV to Tennessee this Christmas until Spring when the weather is better and we can follow the spring bloom from the deserts to the Smokey Mountains. Instead, I fly to Knoxville to make it in time for the birth of Christine's son on Dec. 20 (due date).
Upon arriving at Christine and Matt's, it's apparent, she's due to deliver soon.

Tennessee is a study in contrasts... it's an uneasy balance between Southern Baptists and the sinners with a long tradition of bootlegging and other activities.

Tennessee is to Baptist churches

Sunday evening we all decide to see
Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland light show, which is set up at the Smokies' Baseball stadium in Sevierville TN. We arrive at dusk and have a short wait for the show to begin.

Yesss - show is beginning!

According to a local paper, over 40K lights were used. The whole show lasts 30 minutes and you can slowly drive through the show following a maze through the lights. Overall it's pretty amazing.
After the show, you are funneled into stopping at the petting zoo, rides, and of course to see Santa.
