In the short break from Thanksgiving to Christmas/New Year's Eve, we try to exercise more to help beat back those extra Thanksgiving calories. We are lucky to have neighborhood trails close-by where the dogs get walked almost daily.

The
drought is bringing us wonderful winter weather. Since there's nothing we can do about the lack of rain, at least we can take advantage of the beautiful weather and go for a walk on the beach. One morning my friend Penny and I hike along
Seacliff Beach.

The next group to come are David, Bonnie and Paul. Bonnie and Paul have been traveling around the country in a Dolphin motor home, named
Lula, while Paul's boat is undergoing renovations. After the holidays, they are sailing to the south seas. We look forward to reading the online log of their
adventures on the Romany Star.

I kick back to watch the annual Rose Parade. Next year, maybe I'll get to see it in person (hint) |

The skies light up for the first sunset of 2014. Hope it's a good omen rather than a warning of a bad fire season ahead brought on by the drought.
