Canadian Rockies

Although we had originally planned to spend time exploring the Okanagan Valley and it's many wineries, a week of triple digits is wearing on us coastal dwellers and we decide to head for the hills... or in BC, to head for the Rockies.

As we get closer to the mountains, we see road crews working to repair the damage caused by this last winter's heavy snows followed by high run offs from the spring melt.

We start to get excited as the tops of the mountains peek over the hills and the temperature cools.
Look! There's some mountains

Revelstoke - up and coming ski town

with the mountains to prove it.

We set up camp a few miles south of Revelstoke in Blanket Creek Provincial Park.

The next morning we are off early to see Canada's Glacier National Park.
Wow - the mountains are getting bigger

It's a glorious day and each bend in the road reveals even more stunning views of the Rockies.
